Dr. Ghanshyam Goyal is the Head, Dept. of Diabetology and Consultant and Dept. Internal Medicine at ILS Hospital, Salt Lake. He is also the Regional Coordinator of“National Wound Care Project” (WDF –DFSI),Regional Faculty – Certificate course in Evidence Based Diabetes Management conducted by Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI).
Also holds lifetime membership of Indian Medical Association (IMA). Association of Physicians of India (API), Research Society for study of Diabetes in India (RSSDI), Diabetic Foot Society of India (DFSI). Secretary of Diabetic Foot Society of India (DFSI) since 2008 to 2011.Vice President of Diabetic Foot Society of India (DFSI) since 2012 till date.
Dr. Ghanshyam Goyal, graduated from SMS Medical College, Jaipur, University of Rajasthan and was awarded Doctor of Medicine by the University of Rajasthan after successful training in the core area at SMS Medical College, Jaipur.
He started his journey in 1988 as a Chief Resident— Dept. of Internal Medicine at MRS Hospital, Kolkata. At MRS he has dealt with all kinds of medical emergencies and routine management of patient. He continued with the job role till 1991. He further served the same institution as Consultant Physician & Diabetologist from 1991 to 1995 and was elevated as Unit Head– Consultant Physician & Diabetologist from 1996 to 2002.
In January 2002, he has joined ILS Hospitals, Salt Lake, Kolkata as Head, Dept. of Diabetology and Consultant, Dept. of Internal Medicine. He has vast experience in internal medicines, diabetes, cardiology and critical care of more than 2 decades. He is actively involved in Education & Research part of ILS Hospitals as well as heads the Diabesity Clinic for successful completion of each and every Metabolic Surgery.
He is actively associated with Diabetic Foot Society of India as Secretary and also holds lifetime membership of Indian Medical Association (IMA), Association of Physicians of India (API), and Research Society for Study of Diabetes in India (RSSDI), Diabetic Foot Society of India (DFSI).
He has successfully conducted many conferences. He has been the Organizing Secretary for 7th Annual National Conference of Diabetic Foot Society of India held at Kolkata in the year of 2008. Besides, he has been the Organizing Chairman for conference on Emergencies in Medical Practice (Pre-hospital management) held at SINP in 2007. He is the Chief Editor of the book named – Emergencies in Medical Practice.
In his successful carrier he has presented several papers, guest lecturers, faculty members in various conferences and workshops in India & abroad and attended various national and international conferences in Medicine, Diabetology and Diabetic Foot as a presenter and delegate. He has successfully conducted eight (Phase II, Phase III & PMS studies) clinical trials for different renowned national & international sponsors at his own center as well as in ILS Hospitals.
